Giving

Epiphany members engage in activities to support work through local initiatives as well as global missions.  Methods of giving include an online portal.

GivePlus+ portal from Vanco is a giving platform that provides the opportunity to give using debit or credit cards. Gifts can be directed to Epiphany’s various funds.

Epiphany’s constitution provides resolutions that we will provide support offerings for four specific charitable organizations on an annual basis.

Lutheran Seminaries – Epiphany members engage in activities that raise financial support for two seminaries of the ELCA: The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC) and Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa.
Global Missions –Beginning with Global Missions Sunday in August, we recognize the ELCA’s support of missionaries around the world.  Throughout the year, members collect spare change in jars.  At the beginning of Advent, funds in the Change-For-Change jars are collected to support ELCA missionaries serving in Africa.
Lutheran Social Services Illinois –Several times a year, we reach out to support the work of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI), especially its work in Southern Illinois.  In late summer, we provide school supplies for children in Southern Illinois.  Book in a Basket is a campaign to collect books, small toys, and a few treats for Easter baskets.   Each fall we participate in a Good Shepherd Sunday activity.
Good Samaritan Ministries  – Good Samaritan Ministries was established in 1985 by The Carbondale Interfaith Council to provide services to the needy in the Carbondale area.  Good Sam provides an emergency shelter, a transitional housing program, a soup kitchen, a food pantry, and an emergency assistance program.
